The search for yet another lost husband in the Mexican jungles leads to a crashed satellite inhabited by a murderous alien blob. Gramercy’s 1958 SF jungle adventure has a good idea but lacks both script and interest. 2/10

The Vampire
A doctor accidentally takes a pill which turns him into a vampire at night, and starts killing people. This 1957 low-budget production is surprisingly engaging thanks to a well-crafted script and good performances. 7/10

Invaders from Mars
This 1953 classic is the most visually unabashed SF movie of the 50s. While hampered by a low budget, this first “invasion of the body snatchers” film scared a generation of kids witless, but also contains interesting themes for adults to chew on. 7/10
